Our Story

Multi-Family Development Advisors LLC was founded by Tom Doster to provide the best  solutions for the complete multi-family development cycle.  Tom brings a wealth of experience with a distinguished career in real estate encompassing the design, construction, owner's representation, and development of over 17,438 residential units in multifamily projects, 800,000+ square feet of new commercial and 100+ retail/commercial tenant improvements across 11 states. His projects have a combined value exceeding $4.8 billion to date and counting.

Tom holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development and Construction Management from the University of Denver and Under Grad from San Francisco State University.   He also holds a Class B General Contractors license in California, an ICC Class A General Contractors license, a General Contractors Supervisor Class A license for the City/County of Denver, is an AIA Associate member, a Certified ICC Accessibility Inspector / Plans Examiner and LEED AP - BD+C.   See Tom's LinkedIn profile for more information.

Tom has managed multi-family and mixed-use real estate developments for numerous national developers including: Simpson Housing, Lennar Urban, TCR, JPI., AMLI, UDR, Corum Real Estate Group, Hammes Co., Trimark Communities and other regional developers providing guidance from site selection through disposition including: owner’s representation, design team and consultant management, risk management, drawings and spec reviews, value engineering, accessibility and building envelope reviews,  general contractor management and construction oversight, contract administration, cost & schedule reviews and litigation support.

We have been so fortunate to have worked on some amazing projects from coast to coast across this great nation.  From the Candlestick Park redevelopment, San Francisco Shipyards redevelopment, Treasure Island redevelopment in San Francisco, The Victor in Boston directly over Highway 93 tunnel and an MBTA tunnel, 14W in DC incorporating a historic building and a YMCA within the project, historic conversions of high-rise buildings in Downtown LA and Denver, Metro 112 in Bellevue and many more suburban projects, high-end custom homes and high-end condos.  We are proud that we were chosen to work on these projects based on our expertise and experience in managing complicated projects and our ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
